JHuang Energy Consultants, LLC was founded in 2009 by Mr. Jeffrey Huang along with an elite team specializing in serving the IT/web technology, energy and power generation industries along with related businesses. Mr. Huang and the executive consultants have a wide spectrum of IT, engineering, commercial, and management experience in project development, project financing services and EPC execution of power and renewable energy projects (TIC up to $1,200 million). The team’s specialty areas cover a variety of web development, energy conversion technologies including coal and lignite-fired, coal gasification, waste-to-energy (municipal waste), CHP/cogeneration, gas turbine combined cycle, marine propulsion system, compressed air energy storage (CAES), and renewable energy (solar, biomass, hydro, landfill gas, gasification). For years, Mr. Huang and the team have been serving the U.S. and international energy & power markets.
Mr. Huang has also been the lender’s independent consultant and the owner’s engineer on major energy transactions. He has in-depth expertise in power purchase agreements (PPA), fuel supply agreements (FSA), O&M contracts, major off-take agreements, electric load and fuel use forecasting, energy efficiency auditing, and long-term resources planning. Mr. Huang has teamed up with lenders, project sponsors, legal advisors, insurance brokers and government agencies to achieve project financing objectives. He is familiar with all phases of the project life cycle: from project development throughout financial closing to Commercial Operation.
Mr. Huang has hands-on experience in power plant design, permitting support, equipment requisition, cost & schedule control, construction monitoring, startup and commissioning support, energy scheduling, economic dispatching, and production cost modeling. He possesses significant management consulting experience in business solutions, project financing services, M&A due diligence, technology assessment, energy efficiency, pro forma analysis, risk assessment & mitigation, contract negotiation, regulatory filing, litigation support and subject matter expert testimony.
Mr. Huang and the executive team have held various management and leadership capacities within the information industry and major U.S. energy firms and electric utility. Prior to establishing JHuang Energy Consultants, LLC, Mr. Huang held various management positions within the following major global companies:
- Formerly Director of Stone & Webster Management Consultants, Inc.;
- Formerly Senior Project Manager of WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc.;
- Formerly Project Engineering Manager of Bechtel Corporation;
Mr. Huang has also been retained by DeMatteo Monness LLC of New York and Shanghai, L.E.K. Consulting of Boston, and Gerson Lehrman Group of Austin as a contributing consultant and council to address various energy, power industry and investment issues.
Mr. Huang holds a MBA degree specializing in Finance and Quantitative Management Science, an MSME degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a BSME degree in Marine Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Texas and Alaska.
